Stock associate job description –  the main jobs are unloading truck, checking merchandise to purchase order/invoice, stocking merchandise, putting merchandise away from customer use. They will perform other duties as assigned. A stock associate reports to the Store/General Manager.

  • Help customers with product questions, in a prompt, friendly, courteous manner, referring them to other Employees when necessary. Smile!
  • Offer suggestions for purchases and methods to prepare products.
  • Help clients place special orders. Encourage those wishing to purchase quantities of the exact same thing to place special orders.
  • Use appropriate language, behavior, appearance and general behavior with or in the presence of customers, vendors and shop employees according to policies.
  • Maintain an environment of positive communication among shop personnel to be able to promote stronger work groups.


  • Stock screens fully without overcrowding, giving priority to empty facings.
  • Keep all screens front and confronted.
  • Rotate old stock to front, making space for new inventory.
  • Pull short-date or low-quality items and follow established procedures for recording and disposing of these.
  • Tag items correctly with price tags, shelf tags or hints. Report cost postings to Center Store Team Leader.
  • Maintain stocking lists for later changes.


  • Check for damage, unacceptable quality, and improper dating; notify the Center Store Team Leader or proper staff of problems.
  • Assist with unloading deliveries. .
  • Sign for deliveries as needed, with appropriate alterations noted on bill and path invoice to appropriate staff.
  • Maintain proper floor plan, cleanliness and order in storage space, using place signs as needed.


  • Keep shelves, coolers, bins and equipment in clean, orderly condition in most regions, according standard
  • Remove trash immediately, sweep and mop floor.
  • Monitor freezer and cooler temperatures according to section. Advise Location Manager of gear issues.
  • Participate in routine inventories.


  • Position orders to ensure adequate and regular supply.
  • Code invoices and keep proper records for accounting department.


  • Perform other tasks delegated by Center Store Team Leader.
  • Continue to learn and expand function in the section.
  • Take part in educational and training opportunities when appropriate and available.
  • Take Part in co-op special events such as Truckload Sales, Thanksgiving, and Customer Appreciation Days etc..
  • Maintain an environment of positive communication among shop personnel to be able to promote stronger work groups.


  • Ability to lift 50 pounds continuously.
  • Ability to manage multiple demands.
  • Friendly personality
  • Able to stand for an 8 hour shift
  • Willingness and capacity to learn and grow to meet the changing requirements of the job.
  • Adaptable with fast changing environment
  • Familiarity with natural foods
  • Good skill in Microsoft Office Suite-including Word and Excel.
